Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 15, 2025

I’m Ananya Iyer, and I run makingtwitterfriends.com. This website began as a small email course, and it’s grown into a space where real estate professionals, buyers, and investors in India learn to build genuine relationships through social media.

Your privacy is not an afterthought here. I believe trust starts with how you handle someone’s information—long before you ever exchange a business card or a WhatsApp message. This policy explains what data I collect, why I collect it, and what I never do with it.

1. What information I collect

I keep things minimal. Here’s what you might share:

  • Email address. If you sign up for my newsletter or download a resource, I ask for your email. I need it to deliver what you requested.
  • Name (optional). Sometimes you’ll see a field for a first name. You can use a real name, a nickname, or leave it blank. I only use it to personalize a handful of emails.
  • Usage data. Like most websites, I can see anonymized information about how people move through the site—pages visited, time spent, rough location at the city level. This comes through standard analytics, and I never try to tie it back to an individual.

I don’t ask for phone numbers, physical addresses, property details, or financial information. If you choose to share something sensitive in a survey or a reply, I treat it with the same care I’d want someone to use with my own information.

2. How I use your information

Every piece of data has a single purpose: to make the content more useful for you. Specifically:

  • Delivering updates. I send newsletters, guides, and occasional announcements about workshops or new resources. You’ll only receive these if you opted in.
  • Improving the site. I glance at aggregate data to understand which topics resonate—whether it’s buyer–agent trust signals, RERA-related content, or networking strategies on Instagram and LinkedIn. This helps me spend time on what actually helps you.
  • Replying to you. If you reach out with a question or a story, I’ll reply. I keep those email threads private and never post anything you shared without explicit permission.

I don’t use your data to make automated decisions about you, and I don’t build profiles that follow you around the internet.

3. Cookies and tracking

This site uses cookies—small text files placed by your browser—for basic functionality and analytics. The analytics tool I use (typically something like Google Analytics or a privacy-focused alternative) tracks things like page views and referral sources. It doesn’t give me your name, email, or anything that identifies you personally.

You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. The site will still work, though I might lose the ability to see aggregate patterns that help me improve it.

I don’t run third-party advertising networks, so there are no retargeting pixels, no creepy ads that chase you after you leave, and no cross-site tracking scripts that I control.

4. Who gets access to your data

I’m the only person who sees what you share. I don’t sell, rent, or barter email lists or usage data to anyone—not to developers, lead-generation companies, or marketing firms. The real estate industry in India sees enough unsolicited calls already. I won’t contribute to that noise.

A few trusted services help me run the site. My email provider stores your email address securely so I can send updates. My website host handles basic server logs. These providers have their own privacy commitments and don’t have permission to use your data for their own purposes.

If a legal obligation requires me to share information, I’ll comply, but I’ll also notify you if I’m allowed to—transparency matters.

5. How long I keep your data

I keep your email address for as long as you stay subscribed. Usage data gets retained in aggregate for as long as it’s useful for understanding content trends. If you unsubscribe, your email address moves to a suppression list so I never accidentally email you again. After a reasonable period, I purge even that.

If you want your information removed sooner, just ask.

6. Your rights

You have control over your data. You can:

  • Unsubscribe at any time. Every email includes a clear unsubscribe link. Click it, and you’re out—no questions, no hassle.
  • Request access to the personal information I have about you. I’ll share what I have within a reasonable timeframe.
  • Ask for deletion of your data. Contact me, and I’ll delete everything tied to you that isn’t required for legal or security reasons.

For any of these requests, email me directly at [email protected].

7. Children’s privacy

This site is not directed at children under 13. I don’t knowingly collect information from anyone in that age group. If a parent or guardian becomes aware that their child has shared data with me, please reach out and I’ll delete it immediately.

8. Changes to this policy

If something changes—maybe a new service, a different analytics tool, or a shift in how I handle data—I’ll update this page and note the date at the top. If the change is significant, I’ll also mention it in the next newsletter so you’re not caught off guard.

9. Contact

Questions about privacy, security, or how data flows through this site are welcome. You’re trusting me with your attention, and I take that seriously. Reach out at:
